The well-known Kempty Fall are located on the Dehradun-Mussoorie road. This mighty waterfall falls to the ground from an altitude of 40 feet and is located 4,500 feet above the sea level.
Owing to its valuable location of being surrounded by tall mountain cliffs and magnificent natural beauty, John Mekinan developed this place as a popular picnic spot. From here you will also get a grand panoramic view of other nearby mountains and forest clusters.
Kempty Falls derives its name from “camp and tea”, from the elaborate tea parties that once used to be held here. Locals colloquialized the term and turned it into “Kempty” and that’s what it has been known as ever since! The water that falls cascades along the mountain and divides into five channels.
You will find visitors swimming and bathing in the small pond formed at the bottom of the falls. Since the waterfall does not dry up, it is thronged with tourists all around the year.
2. Sister’s Town

Landour is a small, quiet cantonment town located almost 8 KM away from the urban buzz of Mussoorie, and we will be visiting this town as part of our one day Mussoorie sightseeing package.
It is in this cantonment area that you will find Mussoorie’s famous Sister’s Bazaar, also known as Sister’s Town. It is a commercial locality where you must shop for home-made jams and local cheese, butter and snacks.
If you walk some 100 meters from the centre of this spot, you will find a viewpoint to your left-hand side. If the weather is bright and clear, then you will be able to see and photograph the glorious Great Garhwal Himalayan Ranges!
3. Lal Tibba

The pristine and virgin Lal Tibba is perched on top of Depot Hill in Landour. It is located almost 6 kilometres from Mussoorie town centre and the most convenient way to reach here is through a private rental cab. Lal Tibba is the highest point in this area and thus provides magnificent views of nearby places.
A telescope has been installed here by Japanese authorities and on a clear, cloudless day you can easily see the second highest peak in India, Nanda Devi, which rises to a height of 6,316 meters.
The region has gained fame, both as a cantonment and a popular hill station. You will also find Indian Military Services camps in Lal Tibba. This small town has some of the most beautiful colonial buildings and from higher points you will also get a glimpse of the Tibetan border.
Don’t forget to carry your camera and binoculars while visiting Lal Tibba as every spot is photo-worthy and you may also get to see some interesting birds, insects and small animals.
4. Company Garden

The Company Garden at Mussoorie has been developed as a popular tourist attraction and a picnic spot. Lying in the lap of the Himalayas, the garden was developed by Dr H. Fawkner in the 1900s.

Nestled on a little hill-lock at an elevated position near the Kasmanda Palace, Mussoorie Christ Church is the very first Catholic church in all of the Himalayan region. This imposing church was built in 1836 and is a shining example of Gothic architecture.
The church building is complete with all Gothic architecture elements, namely the pointed arches, corrugated vaults and flying buttresses. The church’s unique architecture makes it a must visit and also a great subject for photography.
In the courtyard outside the church, the deodar tree planted by the Princess of Wales in 1906 is still existing. The church also offers a panoramic view of the Doon Valley.
8. Shopping and Eating at Mall Road
