The Red Fort of Agra, also known by the names of Agra Fort, Fort Rouge and Lal Qila, was built by Emperor Akbar, the greatest Mughal emperor India witnessed. The Fort is built in Red stone and was of great significance under the Mughal rule.

It is said that it was a marble tower of this fort, Muassaman Burj, in which Emperor Shah Jahaan had died, while being imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. This intricately built structure has many stories to tell.

The Exotic Persian style gardens around the main structure are a pleasure to walk through. This is definitely a more offbeat destination and must not be missed for it is certainly unique with a rich historical heritage.

Vrindavan, also known to be the sacred twin city of Mathura is known to be the city where Lord Krishna grew up according to the Hindu Mythology.

Banke Bihari Temple is the most famous temple of Vrindavan, and has the idol of Lord Krishna’s Baal Roop or the childhood form. Unlike other Hindu temples, the drapes before the idol of Banke Bihari (Lord Krishna) are not left open but are pulled shut from time to time. It is believed that the idol’s eyes can make people become unconscious if stared into for too long, thus, for prevention the drapes are shut ad then opened time to time.

Another peculiar practice of the temple is the absence of loud bells. Since, the ideal is of a child, it is considered ill to wake the child abruptly with morning bells, he is woken up gently. There are no bells during used aartis also, to save from causing disturbance to the child form of the Lord.
