The famous Umshiang Double-Decker Root Bridge of Cherrapunji is located in one of the region’s thick tropical forests and will be the first, as well as most exciting part of the one-day Cherrapunji local sightseeing tour. The bridge was built from ancient rubber trees that are endemic only to the northeast region of India. The bridges were made as an alternative to wooden bridges that rot and erode due to continuous rainfall.

The village of Mawlynnong is located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. The village won the title of the cleanest village in Asia in 2003 and since then has been known as ‘God’s Own Garden’. The village attracts tourists for its cleanliness, and the eco-tourism of Mawlynnong is a thriving industry of Meghalaya.
