One Day Jailsalmer Local Sightseeing Trip by Car Header

Situated very close to the Pakistan Border, Jaisalmer is one of the most visited cities and an important tourist destination in Rajasthan. Jaisalmer is also known as the ‘Golden City’, owing to its grand sand dunes that stand proudly in the Thar Desert. The best way to explore this city is with our one day Jaisalmer local sightseeing city tour by private cab.

Jaisalmer is embellished with lakes, opulent Jain temples, havelis, and forts constructed out of golden-yellowish sandstone. While you are in Jaisalmer, do not miss out the desert safari atop a camel’s back and the rich experiences of the desert in a camp under the clear night skies.

The Jaisalmer Fort adorns the city’s skyline like a proud crown and makes for a beautiful contrast to the desert landscape. The narrow alleyways near the fort are inhabited by ancient families that have been living in these very same houses for centuries! The Jaisalmer one day local sightseeing tour is a magnificent blend of Mewari culture, heritage, and grandeur.

Last up on the one day Jaisalmer travelling tour is an offbeat location. The abandoned village of Kuldhara is located about 20 kilometres from Jaisalmer. The village is famous for its legends and myths and is said to be haunted. The abandoned village sits solitary amidst the barren stretches of the Thar Desert.

Stories of ghostly and paranormal activities in and around the village have been reported, although there’s no proof of any of it. Nevertheless, Kuldhara is an interesting place to visit if you are interested in the paranormal!

Legends say that the residents of the villages abandoned their homes overnight and fled to other places to save their honour and lives from the tyrannical hands of Salim Singh who was slowly starving the village to death with exorbitant taxes.

There’s not as much to see at Kuldhara village but the eeriness of the place is sure to enthrall you, and you will be glad to have visited a lesser known tourist attraction in Jaisalmer!
